ChinaNewswire.com Unveils Beta Testing For New Online Media Monitoring And Chinese Press Release Distribution Software http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090305317 http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090305317#comments Wed, 04 Mar 2009 22:56:40 +0000 BDL Media China http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/?p=317 Making sure that corporate press releases both get quickly distributed to journalists and monitoring those releases and the activities of clients becomes faster will soon become much easier as ChinaNewswire.com, China's leading social media press release distribution service, unveils a new Chinese-language beta test of its new software service for clients.

Targeting the media needs of large companies, but intending to fall within the pricing range of small and medium enterprises, the new SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) product is being tested by select clients. The testing period should last for three months, during which time ChinaNewswire.com and its Chinese-language service Xinwengao.com ("xinwengao" means press release in Chinese) slowly move existing clients to the new service.

With the new software service, press release clients can:
1) Post both Chinese and English language press releases and choose to which category of Chinese journalists will receive the release. The service currently targets 6,400 key journalists in China involved in over 2100 key Chinese media.

2) Pay for the press releases directly using online using payment services.

3) Upload, create and save media lists for ad hoc sending of press releases to journalists around the world. Users can monitor if journalists receive the releases and when they open or click on links within the release.

4) Create "News Alerts" that search for keywords on the Chinese Internet and deliver breaking news in real-time to users.

5) Create customized RSS feeds that fit within the dashboard of the software to inform clients of any type of news they desire. The RSS feeds are also available outside of the software so they can be plugged into any type of RSS reader.

"Companies want a cost-effective and easy-to-use way to both distribute their press releases to online media as well as monitor the impact those releases have across the Internet," says Peter Cheng, chief architect of the new SaaS offering. "Feedback from our clients over the coming months will help us to tweak our product to ensure that we deliver a valuable product that can be used by any public relations or marketing department."

Started in 1999, ChinaNewswire.com and its Chinese sister site Xinwengao.com has grown from simple software that allowed clients to maintain their corporate images online to a full-fledged press release distribution software service that daily syndicates its company press releases to dozens of partner websites and thousands of journalists. BDL Media Ltd, a Hong Kong based direct marketing software and services company, owns ChinaNewswire.com and Xinwengao.com. Online Media Unveiled To Cover China's Wireless, Telecom, And Mobile Sectors http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090206307 http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090206307#comments Fri, 06 Feb 2009 03:00:46 +0000 BDL Media China http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/?p=307 Extending its reach across more booming technology sectors in China, ChinaTechNews.com has now unveiled ChinaWirelessNews.com, a new spin-off website devoted to wireless, telecommunications, and mobile businesses in China.

As the first dedicated independent English-language website devoted to covering the wireless and telecom sector in China, ChinaWirelessNews.com delivers daily news brimming with information about 3G licenses, TD-SCDMA, MVAS, mobile phones, RFID, 4G, WCDMA, wireless standards, GSM, PHS, new Chinese regulations, Wi-Fi, WLAN, security, WVAS, and mobile gaming for I.T. professionals around the world. The new website provides advertisers, marketers, and conference companies a keen way to target executives and key decision-makers in important telecom-focused firms. Part of the ChinaTechNews.com group of Chinese-language and English-language Web media brands focused on technology, ChinaWirelessNews.com delivers valuable, immediately-usable information about what's going on in China's exploding wireless sector.

"The creation of handset manufacturing standards or the need for more mobile content in China has pushed I.T. professionals and investors around the world to stay focused on machinations in China in order to understand how to cash-in on all the opportunities that half a billion mobile users has to offer," says Danny Levinson, publisher of ChinaWirelessNews.com and the ChinaTechNews.com Chinese-language and English-language Web media brands. "With the global financial crisis causing companies to re-focus where they can generate income, China is developing into a top area for mobile games, wireless content, handset manufacturing, and the creation of standards. This will be the first year that 3G services begin in China, and ChinaWirelessNews.com provides a way for companies around Asia to focus on the best opportunities in the China market."

The advent of third-generation (3G) telecommunications services this year is expected to jumpstart some of the lagging mobile handset sales in recent months. According to the latest report on China's mobile terminal market in the third quarter of 2008 released by the market research firm Analysys International, 34.79 million mobile phones were sold in China from July to September 2008, decreasing 2.7% compared with the second quarter of 2008. Statistics show that the international mobile phone maker Nokia still dominated the Chinese mobile phone market with market share of 38.9%, followed by the Korea-headquartered Samsung with 18.6%, while Motorola ranked third with 8.8%. Chinese mobile phone brand K-Touch sold 2.83 million mobile phones during the period concerned and occupied 8.1% market share, which was the largest among Chinese brands, followed by Lenovo with 3.9% market share.

While actual handset sales might have slipped, China Unicom said that in December 2008, the number of its GSM mobile phone users increased by 424,000 over the previous month, helping it to reach a total of 133.37 million mobile users. Rival China Mobile released statistics showing that the number of its mobile phone users increased by 7.071 million in December 2008 over the previous month. By the end of December 2008, the total number of users at China Mobile reached 457 million.

"I.T. professionals are hungry for the latest conference information, Chinese mobile regulation news, and telecom merger updates, and ChinaWirelessNews.com is their one source for all this information," concluded Levinson.

Chinese Computer Hacking, Cracking, Spamming, Phishing, And Internet Virus News Now Available In English Via TechSecurityChina.com http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090203304 http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090203304#comments Tue, 03 Feb 2009 05:30:06 +0000 BDL Media China http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/?p=304 TechSecurityChina.com has officially launched as the first dedicated online English-language publication devoted to covering the technology security sector in China. Good technology security is focused on understanding threats before attackers can exploit flaws on the Internet, and with China playing a more important role in the development of software and Internet tools, it's now more important than ever for I.T. professionals around the world to understand the technology security situation in China.

As part of the ChinaTechNews.com group of Chinese-language and English-language Web media brands focused on technology, TechSecurityChina.com delivers valuable, immediately-usable information about what's going on in China's technology security sector. TechSecurityChina.com places all that daily content in one place, covering the latest news about malware, viruses, spam, phishing, mobile safety, and hacking in China. TechSecurityChina.com also covers hardware such as surveillance devices, servers, and security gadgets, as well as legal issues surrounding new standards, copyright issues, and patent complaints.

"TechSecurityChina.com is a vertical publication aimed at the booming computer and technology security sector in China," says Danny Levinson, publisher of TechSecurityChina.com and the ChinaTechNews.com Web media brands. "We've been running ChinaTechNews.com, along with its Chinese and English digital publications focused on the tech sector, for almost ten years, and we've seen in the last 2 years the tech security sector explode in China as more companies develop products for both the Chinese and global markets."

Global anti-spam powerhouse Spamhaus ranks China second, after the United States, in the number of current known email spam security issues, as of statistics posted February 1, 2009. And on Spamhaus' list of the top ten worst Internet Service Providers around the world, Greater China is home to both the 3rd worst offender on the Cnuninet.com network and the 10th worst offender on the Edu.tw network. Because security exploits and phishing attacks can immediately spread across borders, the need for updated technology security news from China has increased in recent years and TechSecurityChina.com is focused on delivering that information to readers around the world.

According to the latest website monitoring information from the Chinese anti-virus software provider Rising, the number of websites plagued by viruses and phishers recently shows a growth trend and the company's Cloud Security system blocked 6.83 million visits to websites with viruses on January 20, 2009, alone. Security experts from Rising say that at present, e-commerce ticket websites and film download websites are the hardest-hit areas by viruses in China, accounting for 80% of the total websites with viruses and embedded malware. Cross-border e-commerce exploits have grown in recent years, so keeping the global community of I.T. professionals updated on machinations in China via TechSecurityChina.com is a good way to help companies around the world save time and money in preparing for security attacks.

Foreign companies too have been taking security seriously in recent months in China, as Microsoft MSN recently reached a strategic cooperative instant messaging agreement with China-based Kingsoft Duba to jointly provide free security products to the users of Windows Live Messenger. According to China Internet Network Information Center's statistics, there are now about 200 million instant messaging service users in China. In recent years, Microsoft MSN has been affected by trojan viruses and spam advertisement links, making MSN a tool for the spreading of viruses and malware around Asia. Other companies are learning from Microsoft that often global software needs local solutions when working within China's Internet world. TechSecurityChina.com is the key resource for companies to understand these requirements.

China's Largest Corporate Social Responsibility Website Unveils New Look And Services http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090116294 http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/20090116294#comments Fri, 16 Jan 2009 03:48:47 +0000 BDL Media China http://www.bdlmedia.com/en/?p=294 Covering topics such as Chinese consumerism, education, environment, supply chain management, corporate giving, charities, non-governmental organizations, health, safety, labor issues, and legal oversight, ChinaCSR.com is expanding its range of topics this year with more articles on clean energy and cleantech, two areas that will have important business growth in 2009. ChinaCSR.com also is now providing over 120,000 different daily Chinese-language RSS feeds covering a myriad of CSR topics that deliver news directly to users' Web-enabled mobile devices or syndication Web 2.0 software programs.

"When we first started the ChinaCSR.com service in 2003, people thought we were crazy to focus on such a niche area as CSR, but we knew that Chinese business executives were hungry for actionable China information about Corporate Social Responsibility," says Danny Levinson, publisher of ChinaCSR.com. "CSR was a niche area six years ago, but it has quickly grown into a large sector within the business community. Now companies have CSR departments and executives carry titles such as Vice President of CSR or CSR Manager. Domestic Chinese companies are now asked to comply with more CSR-friendly rules, and with new CSR guidelines soon going into effect in China for multinationals, the need for immediately usable information in China will explode even more."

Operating since 2003, ChinaCSR.com, owned by China-based BDL Media Limited, is China's largest daily source of news and information covering Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability, and Corporate Citizenship throughout Greater China. The site daily delivers over 100,000 views to users and syndicates its Chinese and English content to over a dozen online sources, including Dow Jones. The website also has over 21,000 weekly digital magazine subscribers and a postal database of over 54,000 key C-level and executive decision makers in China who stay abreast of the ways both domestic and foreign businesses are implementing corporate change in China. Advertisers use ChinaCSR.com to directly target buyers of corporate reporting services; executive education and training; accounting regulatory consulting; supplier management and oversight; and market entry services.

Levinson concludes, "The new logo and enhanced website bring together all the necessary daily Chinese-language and English-language data that executives need to propel their businesses in Greater China. We plan to grow our network of partners in 2009 as the global financial crisis offers opportunities for companies to extend their core ethics and CSR programs in China."

ChinaCSR.com also manages CharityInChina.org, a free service that connects corporations and individuals to NGOs and chrities operating in China who need important funding or assistance. More information is available at www.charityinchina.org or www.chinacsr.com.
