For those of you hardcore into email and Internet marketing services, most of the information in the White Paper should come as little surprise. However, I am still astonished by the large amount of 4A advertising agency staff and other seemingly reputable online marketing companies that strongly encourage Flash-based email campaigns for marketing purposes. It's often the blind leading the blind. One bad campaign can ruin a company's online reputation and send the public relations teams into overdrive.

What the White Paper lays out is the large difference between email service providers in China versus overseas. Different from overseas Web-based providers like Gmail and Hotmail, many Chinese providers like Sohu.com and Sina.com do provide interfaces that allow for Flash-based email messages. However the report points out that just because it is possible to send Flash-based messages does not necessarily mean it should be done in many instances.

However there comes a time when information needs to be free, so we have released this White Paper. For those reputable interactive marketing agencies who do try to tell their clients not to use Flash in their emails, hopefully the report can lend them a hand in convincing clients of when and how to proceed with Flash-based marketing campaigns.
